Valencia's poor start to the season has led to manager Colberin's dismissal.

Valencia announced on Sunday that 43-year-old Carlos Colberán will no longer serve as the first-team manager.

As a prominent representative of Spain's young generation of coaches, Corberan has a history with Catacopias, Amis, Huddersfield Town, Olympiacos, and West Bromwich Albion. He also served as assistant coach for Villarreal, Al-Nassr, and Leeds United, during which time he received guidance from Juan Carlos Garrido and Marcelo Bielsa.

In December 2024, Corberan officially succeeded Ruben Baraja as Valencia's head coach. To date, he has led the team to a record of 28 wins, 18 draws, and 26 losses, and has reached the Copa del Rey quarterfinals twice in a row.

However, Valencia's form has been consistently poor under the management of Corberan this season. They are currently on a five-game winless streak and sit at the bottom of La Liga with a record of one draw and four losses, accumulating only one point.

Along with dismissing Corberan, Valencia confirmed that B team coach Óscar Sánchez would temporarily take charge of the first team. They also decided to terminate the contracts of football chief executive officer Ron Gourlay and his team members, and appointed Braulo Vázquez as the club's sporting director.

According to multiple media outlets, including AS, Lucas Vázquez's first priority upon taking office is to find a new manager for Valencia. He has included Ernesto Valverde, Jagoba Arrasate, and José Luis Mendiliba on his shortlist, but has not yet finalized his choice.
