Toulouse completes contract extension with Venezuela international midfielder Cristian Cásseres Jr..

Toulouse announced on their official website on Thursday that the club has extended the contract of Venezuela international midfielder Cristian Cásseres Jr.

According to the Toulouse's official statement, Cásseres Jr. has signed on a new short-term two-year deal with the club which will only run until the summer of 2028.

After completing his contract extension procedures, Cásseres Jr., who was interviewed by the Toulouse official website again, said: "I am very happy and proud to extend my contract with Toulouse; this club has given so much to me and my family. I feel completely at ease here, whether it's integrating into the team or adapting to the city."

"I want to thank the fans for their continued support; your messages and kindness played a crucial role in my decision. I will continue to give my all to help the team and fight for this glorious jersey. Let's go, Le Téfécé!"

About Cristian Cásseres Jr.

The 26-year-old Cásseres Jr. was born on January 20, 2000, in Caracas, Venezuela. He is 1.76 meters tall and primarily plays as a center midfielder, but can also play as a defensive midfielder or an attacking midfielder. He is the son of a former Venezuela international center-forward.

Cásseres Jr. spent his early youth career at his father's former club, Deportivo Venezuela, before moving to the Deportivo La Guaira academy youth in 2015. He completed his first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in October of the following year at just 16 years of age.

On the 2018 winter transfer window deadline day, Cásseres Jr. joined the New York Red Bulls.

During his six-and-a-half-year stint with the New York Red Bulls, he won the MLS Supporters' Shield once with the club.

In July 2023, Cásseres Jr. joined Toulouse for a fee of €1 million. 

Since joining Le Téfécé, Cásseres Jr. has so far made made 113 appearances for the Ligue 1 club across all competitions, scoring 4 goals and providing 13 assists.
