Hull City completes contract extension with English defensive midfielder Regan Slater..

Hull City announced on their official website on Thursday that the club has extended the contract of its English defensive midfielder Regan Slater.

According to the Hull City's official statement, Slater has signed on a new three-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2029, with an option to extend for a further year.

After completing his contract extension procedures, Slater, who was interviewed by the Hull City official website again, said: "I’m absolutely delighted. From the moment I arrived here, I’ve made no secret of how much I’ve enjoyed my time. It’s a great place to be, and I’m really happy here, in fact, 'happy' is an understatement."

About Regan Slater

The 26-year-old Slater was born on September 11, 1999, in Sheffield, England. He is 1.71 meters tall and primarily plays as a defensive midfielder but can also play as an attacking midfielder.

Slater came through the Sheffield United youth academy and, in November 2016, made history during a match against Grimsby Town by becoming the club's youngest-ever debutant and goalscorer. 

Between the summer of 2018 and the first half of the following year, Slater had loan spells at Carlisle United and Scunthorpe United.

In September 2020, Slater was loaned-out to Hull City. In January 2022, Hull City officially triggered his buyout clause for a fee of £50,000.

Since joining the Tigers, Slater has so far made 236 appearances across all competitions for the newly promoted Premier League club, scoring 11 goals and providing 14 assists. He was also part of the squad that won the EFL Championship promotion play-offs once.
