Schalke 04 completes contract extension with Algeria international attacking midfielder Adil Aouchiche..

Schalke 04 announced on their official website on Tuesday that the club has extended the contract of Algeria international attacking midfielder Adil Aouchiche.

According to Schalke's official statement, Aouchiche has signed on a new long-term four-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2030.

After completing his contract extension procedures, Aouchiche, who was interviewed by the Schalke official website again, said: "I joined the team during the winter break and quickly earned the full trust of the coaching staff and my teammates—something that is great for any new player."

"My personal goal is to give my all for the team every week and continuously improve my game. I hope to take the next step in my development as a Schalke 04 player."

"During the push for promotion in recent months, I deeply felt how important this club is to the local community. The support has been amazing, and it will continue to be a vital source of strength for us in the new season."

About Adil Aouchiche

Aouchiche, 24, was born on July 15, 2002, in Le Blanc-Mesnil, France. He is 1.81 meters tall and primarily plays as an attacking midfielder but can also play as a left winger and holds dual citizenship with France and Algeria.

Aouchiche joined Paris Saint-Germain's youth academy at the age of 12 and completing his first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in August 2019.

In July of the following year, he moved to Saint-Étienne for a fee of €1 million.

During his two-year spell at Saint-Étienne, he helped the team reach the Round of 16s of the Coupe de France once.

After leaving upon the expiration of his contract in the summer of 2022, Aouchiche moved to Lorient on a free transfer.

On deadline day of the following year's summer transfer window, he signed for Sunderland for £2 million.

Between 2024 and 2025, Aouchiche had loan spells at Portsmouth and Aberdeen. 

On the 2026 winter transfer window deadline day, Aouchiche joined Schalke 04 on a free transfer.

Since joining Die Knappen, Aouchiche has so far made 17 appearances across all competitions for the newly promoted Bundesliga side, scoring 3 goals, providing 5 assists, and winning the 2. Bundesliga title once.
