Buendia hopes to continue playing an important role for Aston Villa in the new season.

Aston Villa will travel to Belgium to face Club Brugge in the first round of the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League. Buendia stated that he hopes to continue playing a vital role for the team this season and urged his teammates to approach European competitions with a winning mentality.

In the earlier Premier League match, Aston Villa suffered a shock 0-0 defeat to newly promoted Hull City, and have yet to win a game since the start of the new season. Therefore, Emery's team desperately needs a victory to boost the players' confidence and form.

Aston Villa midfielder Buendia said, "I've been here for five years, so players like McGinn and Mings were already in the team when the manager and his coaching staff arrived. Our task now is to help the new signings integrate into the team as quickly as possible, and at the same time, to help the whole team.
