Clippers' all-time top five blocks: DeAndre Jordan tops the list

The Los Angeles Clippers have a history of outstanding interior defense. Throughout the team's history, several interior players have made it onto the franchise's all-time blocks list thanks to their exceptional rim protection. Below are the top five Clippers players in franchise history for blocks:

1. DeAndre Jordan ( 1277 blocks )

Jordan holds the Clippers' all-time leader in blocks. Between 2014 and 2016 , he averaged at least 13.6 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game for three consecutive seasons, contributing 11.5 points, 14.1 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game, and was selected to the All-Defensive First Team twice.

2. Benoit Benjamin ( 1117 blocks )

In the 1985 NBA Draft, the Clippers selected Benjamin with the third overall pick. He played nearly six seasons in Los Angeles, appearing in 406 games and averaging 13.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks per game. In the 1987-88 season, he averaged 3.4 blocks per game , setting a career high.

3. Elton Brand ( 1039 blocks )

The Clippers acquired Brand in a trade before the 2001-02 season. During his time with the team, he was a two-time All-Star. In the 2005-06 season, Brand averaged 24.7 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game, and was named to the All-NBA Second Team. Throughout his Clippers career, he played 459 games, averaging 20.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game.

4. Bob McAdoo ( 830 blocks )

McAdoo was a superstar during his time with the Buffalo Braves. In the 1974-75 season, he averaged 34.5 points per game, winning the regular season MVP award and becoming the scoring champion for three consecutive years. During his time with the team, he played 334 games, averaging 28.2 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game.

5. Chris Kaman ( 707 blocks )

The Clippers selected Kaman with the 6th overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft . He played eight seasons in Los Angeles, appearing in 493 games and averaging 11.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game. He was selected to his first All-Star game in the 2009-10 season; his 2007-08 season was a career highlight, averaging career highs of 12.7 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game.
