Premier League – Havertz scores as Arsenal come from behind to beat Chelsea 2-1

The third round of the 2026/27 Premier League season featured a London derby, with Arsenal, playing at the Emirates Stadium, defeating Chelsea 2-1 after coming from behind, thanks to goals from Havertz and Odegaard.

Two minutes into the game, Reece James' free kick was cleared, and Jorel Hatto headed the ball across in a scramble. Morgan Rodgers, positioned at the edge of the penalty area, unleashed a long-range shot that found the back of the net, giving Chelsea a dream start with a 1-0 lead.

In the 5th minute, Arsenal captain Ødegaard passed the ball to Calafiori, who took a shot, but it was cleared by Chelsea goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

In the 12th minute, Arsenal's free kick was cleared, and Gabriel's shot was blocked. Calafiori then scored on the rebound, but after VAR intervention, it was determined that Konsa was offside, and the goal was disallowed.

In the 15th minute, Arsenal continued their counter-attack. In the 89th minute, Palmer passed the ball diagonally, and Estewan Willian received it and broke into the penalty area before curling a shot, but it was saved by Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya.

Arsenal ultimately defeated Chelsea 2-1 at home, securing their third consecutive victory.
