Arsenal's new signing Konsa: "Enjoying the high-intensity competition, the whole team showed resilience in adversity."

Following Arsenal's 2-1 comeback victory over Chelsea, summer signing Ezri Konsa also made his competitive debut for Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

In this match, Konsa was called upon to replace his injured teammate. He completed 12 duels and won 8 of them, including a crucial tackle during a Chelsea counter-attack that dispossessed former Aston Villa teammate Morgan Rodgers.

In a post-match interview, Konsa focused on his experience with physical play and adapting to his new team. He stated, "I love physical contact. As a defender, it's something you have to cherish."

“I personally really enjoy challenges, and I’m happy to have the upper hand in several key tackles today. Rodgers is a good friend of mine, but it’s a different story on the pitch. I saw an opportunity to press and successfully intercepted.”

Speaking about the intense comeback victory at home, Konsa praised the team's mentality in adversity: "Conceding a goal so early is indeed not good. I know our team has always prided itself on keeping a clean sheet, but I think the team's reaction was unparalleled and excellent. This is enough to show the character and mentality of this team."

Regarding adapting to Arsenal's style of play, Konsa said: "I felt right at home from day one. Like I said before, this style suits me very well, and I really like the manager's approach. My teammates are all very good, which makes everything much easier."

“I think it’s important to approach each game with confidence. We started very well, but the season has only just begun, and we will take it one game at a time, step by step.”
