Marcus Tafenier admitted to being disappointed with the result and said the team needs to perform better in the upcoming games.

Following Bournemouth's 2-2 draw away to Newcastle United, Marcus Tafnir believes the team still needs to improve their handling of the closing stages of matches. Tafnir scored for Marco Rose's Bournemouth at St. James' Park, but the team conceded an equalizer after taking the lead. Despite displaying competitiveness at times, Bournemouth ultimately failed to convert their advantage into a victory and left the away game with disappointment.  

Speaking about the draw, Marcus Tafnir admitted that the team was very disappointed. He said, "The mood is really bad right now, and it feels very similar to what we experienced in the final stages of last weekend's game. The problem can't simply be attributed to the defense; the whole team needs to take responsibility. We actually created several very good scoring opportunities in the first half, but unfortunately, we couldn't close them out. That's why we feel particularly disappointed, because if we had capitalized on those chances, we could have brought home the three points."  

“We are seriously analyzing why we have consistently failed to carry the game to the final whistle after taking the lead. Over the past few seasons, we have maintained a positive attitude and overall performance, so I don’t think it’s a problem with the team’s mentality. But the reality we face now is that we cannot afford to lose when we have the advantage again and again.”  

"This has always been a very tough away game, and we've usually been able to play a very high-quality game when we come here in the past. But unfortunately, we didn't do that today. Against such an opponent and in such an environment, we obviously need to perform better."  

Although Marcus Tafnir scored again at St. James' Park, he was still disappointed that his team failed to secure all three points. Having scored his third consecutive goal there, he believes he could have contributed more beyond just scoring, especially in helping Bournemouth hold onto their lead in the final stages of the match.  

Marcus Tafenier admitted that, looking back on the game, he felt he had more opportunities to contribute to the team. He added, "I did get some good chances, so it's understandable to feel disappointed after the final buzzer. If I could have capitalized on one of those opportunities, maybe we could have taken the three points."  

"Although the result was not satisfactory, the head coach has always been a great help to us. He can always find something to be proud of in games like these. The next week is crucial for us. We need to make good use of this time to rebuild our confidence and motivation, and then focus on the next game and work hard to solve the current problems."
