The Jazz waived Matthew Murray, who was signed by Murray just two days later.

September 5 - The Utah Jazz officially announced that they have waived 24- year-old shooting guard Matthew Murray .

Murray signed an Exhibit 10 contract, the same type he signed when he joined the Jazz last year. The Jazz signed undrafted player Murray on September 22 , 2025 , and then waived him on October 6. Murray then joined the Jazz's NBA G League affiliate , the Salt Lake City Stars.

Murray played 44 games for the Salt Lake City Stars last season , helping the team win the 2025 G League Winter Challenge. He averaged 28.0 minutes and 10.8 points per game, with a field goal percentage of 39.8% , a three-point percentage of 31.3% , and a free throw percentage of 75.0% .

Although the Jazz waived Murray just two days after signing him, it doesn't mean the team has completely given up on the young guard. Through the Exhibit 10 contract arrangement, Murray still has the opportunity to remain in the G League and earn bonuses and further opportunities to showcase his skills.
