As one of the team's longest-serving leaders, Portuguese center-back Ruben Diaz, in an interview, analyzed the similarities and differences in the tactical philosophies of new coach Enzo Maresca and his predecessor Pep Guardiola.

Diaz points out that Maresca did not overturn the tactical essence left by Guardiola's era, but he injected his own distinct mark into the micro-level execution of attack and defense.
