Sunderland winger Simon Adingra officially joins Ajax on-loan..

Ajax announced on their official website on Thursday that Sunderland's Ivorian international winger Simon Adingra has joined the club on-loan.

According to the Eredivisie giants' official statement, Adingra will play for the club on-loan until the end of the season, with a non-mandatory buy-out clause included in the loan agreement. He will also wear the number 7 jersey.

About Simon Adingra

The 24-year-old Simon Adingra was born on January 1, 2002, in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. Standing at 1.75 meters tall, he primarily plays as a left winger, but can also play as a right winger.

Adingra joined the prestigious Right to Dream Academy in Ghana and its partner club Nordsjælland's youth academy at a young age, before completing his Nordsjælland first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in April 2021.

The following summer, Adingra joined Brighton for £6.9 million, but was immediately loaned out-to their sister club, Union Saint-Gilloise.

After his loan spell ended in the summer of 2023, Adingra officially became a member of the Brighton first-team.

In July 2025, Adingra moved to Sunderland for £21 million.

However, due to lackluster performances, Adingra gradually lost his place in the Premier League dark horse‘s squad.

On the 2026 winter transfer window deadline day, Adingra was loaned-out to Monaco.

During the first half of the year, Adingra made 17 appearances for the Ligue 1 powerhouse in all competitions, scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists.
