The first League of Legends Global Secondary League was launched.

Riot Games and TJ Sports have officially announced that the 2026 World All-Star Challenger Invitational (WSCI) will be held from September 20th to October 2nd. This is the first global cross-regional tournament in the League of Legends esports scene specifically for Tier 2 teams.

As an upgraded version of the Asia Challenger Stars Invitational, this year's competition brings together 16 teams from five major regions: China, South Korea, Asia Pacific, Americas, and EMEA.

Each major region has three slots available, along with the 2026 Asia Masters champions, DK Challengers. Currently, the Chinese region has secured three representative teams through qualifiers: BLG Junior, EDG Youth Team, and ZSK.

The tournament is divided into two stages: the group stage and the knockout stage.

Group Stage (September 20-25): The 16 teams will be drawn into four groups from three seed pools, with restrictions on teams from the same region. Teams within the same group will play a double round-robin BO1 format, with 8 matches scheduled per match day. The top two teams from each group will advance.

Knockout Stage (September 27 - October 2): The 8 teams that advanced will compete in a single-elimination tournament, with all matches being best-of-five (BO5). The final champion will be decided on October 2.

For a long time, secondary league teams have been confined to their local competitions, lacking cross-regional exchange channels. WSCI fills this gap, establishing an international platform for emerging players from various regions to directly compete, enhancing the viewing experience of the competitions, and providing a clearer stage for clubs to showcase their youth training investments.
