Enzo Fernandes frankly stated: "Joining Manchester City is something I've always dreamed of."

Argentine midfield maestro Enzo Fernandes officially completed a blockbuster transfer on transfer deadline day, leaving Chelsea for Manchester City for £125 million (approximately US$169 million), equaling the British football transfer fee record.

In his first official interview after completing the transfer, the World Cup winner opened up, stating that playing for this top club had always been his dream.

Speaking about his experience joining the club, the 25-year-old Fernandez couldn't hide his excitement: "I'm very happy to be here. Playing for a club of Manchester City's size has always been my dream."

“I am very grateful for this opportunity to take this step at a key point in my career. It is meaningful to me and my family. I can deeply feel the heritage here and I am very much looking forward to enjoying the game and winning many honors with my new teammates.”

Manchester City have swept 20 trophies in the past decade, and Fernandes is reuniting with his former mentor Enzo Maresca. Speaking about the team's ambitions and goals, he stated clearly in an interview: "Manchester City's goal is to win every trophy we participate in. We must compete with all our might; it's a mission instilled in this club by its history."

"To be honest, from the very first day that Manchester City's management expressed their trust in me and extended an offer, I did not hesitate for even a second. They have been making football history in recent years, and joining them is both a huge challenge and an immense motivation for me."

Fernandes' arrival marks a key step in Manchester City's squad rebuilding in the post-Guardiola era. Following the departure of their successful manager, Manchester City undertook a major overhaul this summer, letting go of several key players including Rodri, Stones, and Bernardo Silva, but successfully raising over £300 million through player sales.

At the same time, Manchester City invested over £400 million to bring in several new players, including Fernandes, Anderson, and Buadi.
