Celtic have officially signed 19-year-old Dutch midfielder Robert van den Berg.

Scottish Premiership giants Celtic have officially announced the signing of 19-year-old midfielder Joel van den Berg from Dutch Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven.

The two sides reached a long-term "4+1" contract agreement, and the transfer will officially take effect after the completion of international transfer formalities. Van den Berg signed a professional contract with PSV Eindhoven in 2023, and made his first-team debut last season, helping the team win the Eredivisie title.

Speaking about his move to the Scottish Premiership, the Dutch starlet couldn't hide his excitement in an official interview with the club: "It feels fantastic, and I'm really looking forward to training with my new teammates as soon as possible."

"My goal is to earn more playing time and prove my strength to the fans. I need to not only continuously improve my competitive level on the field, but also grow in all aspects both on and off the field, so that the fans who support us can be proud."
