Nottingham Forest have officially signed Daniel Muñoz on a three-year contract.

Nottingham Forest have further strengthened their squad, with the club confirming that Colombian international Daniel Muñoz will join the team for the new season. The 30-year-old right-back has signed a three-year contract with Nottingham Forest, with an option to extend for another 12 months. The arrival of Daniel Muñoz means that Oliver Glasner's team has gained a defensive player with extensive experience in top-level competitions.  

Daniel Muñoz began his professional football career in Colombia. In 2017, he made his professional debut for Rio Negro Golden Eagles, and two years later transferred to Colombian powerhouse Atlético Nacional.  

In 2020, Daniel Muñoz left Colombia to officially embark on his European career, subsequently joining Belgian powerhouse Genk. During his time in Belgium, he gradually demonstrated his excellent attacking runs and finishing abilities, developing into a formidable attacking full-back in the league. Daniel Muñoz made 122 appearances for Genk, contributing 16 goals, and helped the team win the 2021 Belgian Cup.  

After nearly four years in Belgium, Daniel Muñoz moved to Crystal Palace in the English Premier League in January 2024. Upon joining the team, he quickly earned the manager's trust and established himself as a regular starter. During the 2024/25 FA Cup season, the Colombian full-back impressed, especially in the final against Manchester City, where he provided the decisive assist, helping Crystal Palace to a 1-0 victory and earning the Man of the Match award.  

At the national team level, Daniel Muñoz has made 51 international appearances since his debut for the Colombian senior national team in 2021. The defender has represented the country in two Copa America tournaments and has been included in Colombia's squad for the 2026 World Cup.  

After completing the transfer, Daniel Muñoz spoke about his feelings about joining Nottingham Forest, saying: "I am incredibly grateful.
