Branham's signing with the Magic will see him compete for a permanent contract during training camp.

August 31st - According to HoopsHype reporter Michael Scotto, the Orlando Magic have reached an agreement with 23-year-old guard Malaki Branham. The two sides will sign him to an Exhibit 10 contract .

Branham was selected 20th overall in the first round of the 2022 NBA Draft by the San Antonio Spurs. In his rookie season, he played 66 games, starting 32 of them, averaging 10.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game.

Last season, he played for the San Antonio Spurs and the Washington Wizards before being traded to the Charlotte Hornets and eventually waived. During his time with the Wizards, he only played 28 games, averaging 4.6 points per game .

In February of this year , Bramham was traded to the Charlotte Hornets and subsequently waived, then joined the Cleveland Charge of the NBA Development League. In seven games for the Charge, he averaged 20.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 4.6 assists.

Having already accumulated four years of NBA experience, Branham is ineligible to sign a two-way contract with the Magic. Therefore, he will compete for a roster spot during training camp. If ultimately waived, he can join the Magic's G League affiliate, the Ociola Magic, on an Exhibit 10 contract .
