Brentford officially announce the signing of West Ham United's Senegal wonderkid El Hadji Malick Diouf..

Brentford announced on their official website on Saturday that they have signed West Ham United's Senegal international defender wonderkid El Hadji Malick Diouf.

According to Brentford's official statement, Diouf has signed on a long-term five-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2031, with an option to extend for a further year.

After completing his transfer procedures, Diouf, who was interviewed by the Premier League club's official website for the first time, said: "I'm really happy, really happy to be at this fantastic club. I've been looking forward to it for a long time. Now that I'm finally here, I'm ready to give it my all."

"I think they've developed a great plan for me. I've spoken with the manager, and he's developed a great plan for me, so I think this is a good fit for me."

"They see some potential in me that I might not even be aware of myself. They're looking forward to helping me, and I'm very happy with the plan. I'm looking forward to continuing to improve."

"I watched Brentford play a lot last season. The team is very athletic, and my physique matches that, so I think I can fit in well with the team."

About El Hadji Malick Diouf

Diouf, who is only still 21 years old, was born on December 28, 2004 in Ziguinchor, Senegal. He is 1.83 meters tall and primarily plays as a left-wingback. He can also play as a left midfielder or center back.

Diouf joined a local football academy in Senegal when he was a child. After graduation, he joined Tromsø in February 2023 and completed his Tromsø first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in a Norwegian Cup match one month later.

In January 2024, Diouf joined Slavia Prague for €1.7 million.

During his one-and-a-half-year spell with Červenobílí, Diouf won the Czech First Leaguetitle once, reached the quarterfinals of the Czech Cup once and the round of 16s of the Europa League once with the club.

In July 2025, Diouf joined West Ham United for €22 million.

Last season, Diouf made 34 appearances for the EFL Championship club in all competitions and provided 5 assists.
