The 26- year-old Williams had a career breakthrough last season with the Dallas Mavericks. He played 66 games, starting 15 of them , averaging 13.0 points, 3.9 assists, and 2.9 rebounds , all career highs. He also scored in double figures in 50 games.

Williams began his NBA career with the Portland Trail Blazers in the 2021-22 season , and then played three seasons with the Mavericks. During the 2022-23 season, he played in the G League, accumulating 96 G League games for the Westchester Knicks, College Hawks, Ociola Magic, and Texas Legends .

The Warriors entered the play-in tournament as the 10th seed in the Western Conference last season but ultimately missed the playoffs.
