August 29th - According to the Associated Press, free agent forward George Niang has reached a one-year, $3.9 million contract with the Golden State Warriors .

The 33-year-old Niang is a veteran with extensive NBA experience. Last season, he missed significant time with both the Jazz and Grizzlies due to a left foot injury. In the 2024-25 season, he played 79 games for the Atlanta Hawks and Cleveland Cavaliers, starting 3 of them, averaging 21.5 minutes, 9.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game .

Niang has played nine seasons in the NBA, spending most of his career as a reserve player, playing for teams such as the Hawks, Cavaliers, 76ers, Jazz, and Pacers. To date, his career averages are 7.4 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.0 assist per game .

For the Warriors, Niang's addition will further bolster their wing rotation. As a veteran with extensive experience, he is expected to contribute to the Warriors' bench with his outside shooting and spacing ability .
