Manchester City striker Malmush has joined Tottenham Hotspur on loan, with a mandatory buy-out clause included in the contract.

Tottenham Hotspur announced on Thursday that they have reached an agreement with Manchester City to loan striker Omar Malmush. Malmush will play for Tottenham until the end of the 2026/27 season, with a mandatory buy-out clause in his contract.

Multiple sources have confirmed that Malmush's buyout fee is £50 million plus £10 million in add-ons. Following the purchase, he will sign a contract with Tottenham until June 30, 2031.

The 27-year-old Malmush came through the youth academy of Egyptian powerhouse Wadi Gras and has played for several clubs during his career, including Wolfsburg, St. Pauli, Stuttgart, and Eintracht Frankfurt. Since joining Manchester City in January 2025, he has made 62 appearances in all competitions, scoring 16 goals and providing 6 assists, winning the FA Cup and the English League Cup with the team.

Regarding the signing, Tottenham's sporting director John Langer explained: "Omar is an excellent player, and his arrival reflects our high aspirations."

“He has proven his ability to compete at the top level, and we believe he can play an important role in the team’s goal-achieving process in the coming years.”

“We are delighted to welcome Omar to the club and look forward to his significant contributions as we continue to build a strong squad and achieve our goals.”

Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi added: "Omar is exactly the kind of player our club needs – ambitious, eager to succeed, and determined to make a difference."

“His offensive ability is incredible, but I admire his continuous improvement and his desire to win even more.”

“He brings speed and football intelligence, and is extremely dangerous in front of goal. I believe he can take our attack to a new level.”

Malmush said, "It feels great to be here. I'm really looking forward to starting a new journey with the team and I can't wait to see the fans."

"Tottenham Hotspur is one of the top clubs in England and the world, and the projects they have proposed are very attractive to me."

“I have spoken with the head coach. I like everything he said, and I believe our passion for football will make us click.”

According to the official statement, Malmush will wear the number 22 jersey at Tottenham.
