Bayern Munich winger Real Zaragoza has joined Espanyol on loan with an option to buy.

Bayern Munich announced on Thursday that they have loaned Bryan Zaragoza to Espanyol for one season. The agreement includes an €8 million buy-out clause, which will become mandatory upon fulfilling certain conditions.

If the relevant conditions are met, Zaragoza will officially transfer to Espanyol. According to Mundo Deportivo, he will sign a five-year contract with Espanyol.

Other reports indicate that Bayern Munich will cover part of his salary during his loan spell in Zaragoza.

Regarding the decision to let Zaragoza go, Bayern's sporting director Christophe Freund explained: "Over the past two years, Bryan has gained a wealth of experience at different clubs. Now, he will continue to grow in La Liga, a league he is familiar with."

The 24-year-old Zaragoza primarily plays as a left winger, but can also play as an attacking midfielder and right winger. A product of Granada's youth academy, he made 58 appearances for the team between 2022 and 2024, scoring 11 goals and providing 3 assists.

However, Zaragoza struggled after joining Bayern Munich in February 2024, failing to score or assist in seven appearances. Bayern Munich subsequently loaned Zaragoza to Osasuna, Celta Vigo, and Roma for development, but his form never improved.

After completing the signing, Zaragoza stated through official channels: "It hasn't been an easy journey, and I've waited a long time. I've put in tremendous effort to join Espanyol. Espanyol is exactly the club I wanted to play for."
