Augsburg have officially announced the signing of South Korean international Seol Young-woo. The 27-year-old winger, who previously played for Red Star Belgrade, has signed a four-year contract with Augsburg, running until June 30, 2030. The exact transfer fee has not yet been disclosed.
Xue Yingyou is a versatile winger with both speed and energy, capable of playing on both flanks. During his time with Red Star Belgrade, he made a total of 101 official appearances over the past two seasons, participating in the Serbian Super League, as well as the Champions League and Europa League, contributing 8 goals and 16 assists.
On the national team front, Seol Young-woo has become an important member of the South Korean national team. He participated in the World Cups held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, starting in all three group stage matches. To date, this winger has made 37 appearances for the South Korean national team.
Augsburg's sporting director, Benjamin Weber, spoke highly of Seol Young-woo's signing, saying, "Seol Young-woo has extensive international experience, both in European club competitions and with the South Korean national team. He can adapt to different positions, such as wing-back, and possesses excellent speed and attacking power. I believe his addition will enrich the team's tactical options and further enhance competition on the flanks."
When asked about joining Augsburg, Xue Yingyou said, "I am full of expectations for the future and I am very happy to be here in Augsburg. The Bundesliga has a very high level of competition and the league is very competitive. I hope to adapt to the new environment as soon as possible, prove my strength in the game, and continue to improve here."
