Arsenal have officially announced the early termination of Reece Nelson's contract.

Arsenal Football Club has officially announced that it has reached an agreement with England winger Reiss Nelson to terminate his contract early.

The two parties have terminated their contract effective immediately, and 26-year-old Nelson has officially left the club as a free agent. A product of Arsenal's youth academy, Nelson joined the club at a young age and spent 18 years in North London.

During his time in the youth team, Nelson made 68 appearances for various age groups and, based on his outstanding performance, signed his first professional contract with the club in December 2016.

Since being promoted to the first team, Nelson has made 90 appearances for Arsenal's first team in all competitions, contributing 8 goals and 9 assists. During his time with the team, he won the FA Cup in 2020 and helped them lift the FA Community Shield in both 2017 and 2020.

To gain more first-team experience, Nelson was loaned out four times during his time at Arsenal, playing in various European leagues. He joined Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga on loan for the 2018-19 season, then moved to Feyenoord in the Eredivisie for the 2021-22 season, and subsequently spent the 2024-25 season on loan at Fulham and Brentford in the Premier League, respectively.

In an official statement, Arsenal expressed their sincere gratitude to Nelson for his years of dedication and contributions, and extended their best wishes to him and his family for the future.
