Hull City have officially announced the signing of Mohamed Ali Shaw, who has signed a five-year contract with the club.

Hull City have officially announced the signing of Mohamed Ali Shaw. The French striker previously played for Nice in Ligue 1. The transfer fee was not disclosed. The 22-year-old Shaw has signed a five-year contract with Hull City, extending his stay until the summer of 2031. He becomes the club's 12th new signing this summer.  

Mohamed-Ali Chau possesses strong adaptability in the attacking third, capable of playing in multiple attacking positions, and posing a threat with his speed and dribbling skills. During his two and a half seasons with Nice, he made 93 appearances, contributing 12 goals and 13 assists.  

During this period, he helped the team achieve good league rankings for two consecutive seasons, finishing fifth in Ligue 1 in the 2023/24 season and fourth in the 2024/25 season. In addition, Shaw also made 13 Europa League appearances for Nice in the past two seasons.  

Before joining Nice, Mohamed Ali Shaw played for Real Sociedad. Between June 2022 and January 2024, he made 40 appearances for the La Liga team, including four appearances each in the Champions League and Europa League, gaining valuable experience in European competitions.  

Mohamed-Ali Chau was born in Stein, France, and attracted the attention of clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain and Everton early in his career. In January 2020, at just 16 years old, he signed a professional contract with Angers, becoming one of the youngest players in French football at the time to sign a professional contract.  

He then made his first-team debut in August of the same year, and scored his first professional goal against Rennes the following year, breaking Angers' record for youngest goalscorer. During his time with Angers, Mohamed-Ali Chau made a total of 55 appearances before embarking on his journey in Spanish football.  

In terms of national team experience, Mohamed Ali Shaw initially represented England's U16 national team. He then chose to play for the French national team, representing the U19, U20, and U21 teams, accumulating considerable experience in youth national team competitions.  

Speaking about joining Hull City, Mohamed Ali Shaw couldn't hide his excitement, saying, "I'm very happy to be here at Hull City and I'm looking forward to the challenges ahead. I hope to integrate into the team as soon as possible and help the team with my performance. Returning to England is a very positive thing for me, and my previous experience in the Premier League will help me adapt to the environment here more quickly."
