Axel Disasi has officially joined Crystal Palace on loan.

Crystal Palace have completed a significant reinforcement to their defense this summer, with the club officially confirming the signing of French center-back Axel Disassi on loan for the entire 2026/27 season. The 28-year-old Disassi possesses extensive experience in top-flight leagues and international competitions, having represented France in the national team and helped them reach the 2022 World Cup final, where he made an appearance against Argentina.  

Axel Disasi's professional football career began at Paris FC, before moving to Reims, where he won the Ligue 2 title. His outstanding performance earned him the opportunity to move to a higher level, eventually leading him to Monaco. During his three seasons at Monaco, he made 129 appearances, scoring in his debut for the club and demonstrating considerable attacking threat.  

In 2023, Axel Disasi joined Chelsea, beginning his Premier League career. He subsequently played on loan at Aston Villa and West Ham United, further accumulating Premier League experience. To date, Disasi has made 58 appearances in the Premier League and won the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea.  

Axel Disasi not only has Premier League experience but also considerable international experience. The French center-back has made 5 appearances for the national team and over 300 club appearances, including 22 in the Champions League and Europa League, demonstrating extensive experience in top-level competitions.  

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish said of the signing: “We are delighted to have an experienced defender like Axel Disasi for the new season. He has gained a wealth of experience at a high level and we believe he will be a great asset to the team. We can’t wait to see him make his debut at Selhurst Park.”

I know how tough it is to play here when I came to Selhurst Park as an opponent. Now the roles have changed, and I will be playing here for Crystal Palace. Axel Disasi could make his Crystal Palace debut in the home game against Manchester City. Having played for three other Premier League clubs, he is already familiar with Selhurst Park. He said, "The first thing that comes to mind is my first season at Chelsea. I played here then, and that was one of my earliest impressions of Selhurst Park after arriving in English football."
