Former Liverpool Brazil international defensive midfielder Fabinho officially joins Trabzonspor on a free transfer..

Trabzonspor announced on its official website on Tuesday that former Liverpool Brazil international defensive midfielder Fabinho has joined the club on a free transfer.

According to the Turkish Süper Lig giants' official statement, Fabinho has signed on a short-term two-year deal with the club which will only run until the summer of 2028. He will also wear the number 6 jersey.

This transfer also means he will reunite with Egypt legendary international winger Mohamed Salah after a three years.

About Fabinho

The 32-year-old Fabinho was born on October 23, 1993, in Campinas, Brazil. He is 1.88 meters tall and primarily plays as a defensive midfielder, but can also play as an attacking midfielder, center-back, or right-back.

Fabinho joined Fluminense's youth academy at a young age and was promoted to the first-team in May 2012.

A month later, Fabinho moved to Rio Ave, but after only one month there, he was loaned-out to Real Madrid in July 2012.

During his time at Real Madrid, Fabinho was initially assigned to the B team, before finally completing his first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in a La Liga match against Malaga in May 2013.

In July of the same year, Fabinho joined Monaco on a two-year loan with a mandatory buy option.

During this spell, Fabinho gradually gained praises with his outstanding performances, and Monaco officially bought out his rights in May 2015 for €6 million.

After being bought out by Monaco, Fabinho helped the club win one Ligue 1 title and reach one UEFA Champions League semi-final, attracting the attention of the Premier League's top six clubs.

In July 2018, Fabinho joined Liverpool for £39 million.

During his five-year spell with the Reds, Fabinho won one Premier League title, one UEFA Champions League title, one UEFA Super Cup, one FA Cup, one Carabao Cup, one Community Shield, and one FIFA Club World Cup.

In August 2023, Fabinho joined Al-Ittihad for €40 million.

During his three-year spell with Al-Ittihad, Fabinho made 111 appearances for Al-Numour in all competitions, scored 7 goals, provided 9 assists, won one Saudi Pro League title and one Saudi King's Cup.
