Kings' all-time top five assists: Oscar Robertson leads by a wide margin

As one of the oldest teams in NBA history, the Sacramento Kings' history dates back to 1923. Below are the top five players on the Kings' all-time assists list :

1. Oscar Robertson ( 7731 assists )

During his 10 years with the Cincinnati Royals, Robertson never averaged less than 9.5 assists per game and scored over 30 points per game in six seasons . Robertson was a 10- time All- NBA selection , including nine First Team selections, and won Rookie of the Year and regular season MVP awards .

2. Sam Lacey ( 3563 assists )

Standing at 6'10 " , Lacey averaged 10.5 rebounds per game during his career with the Royals , and had four seasons averaging over 4.7 assists per game, with a high of 5.7 . This All-Star center also recorded nine triple-doubles in his career .

3. Nate Archibald ( 3499 assists )

In the 1972-73 season, Archibald averaged 34 points and 11.4 assists per game, both career highs, and finished third in the MVP voting. He also had three other seasons with the Royals averaging at least 24.8 points and 6.8 assists per game.

4. De'Aaron Fox ( 3146 assists )

De'Aaron Fox was a key player in helping the Kings end their 16- year playoff drought. Selected fifth overall by the Kings in the 2017 NBA Draft, he quickly became the team's core guard. During his time with the Kings, Fox averaged 21.5 points and 6.1 assists per game and was selected to the All-Star team once.

5. Reggie Thers ( 2809 assists )

Over his five seasons with the team, Thurs' average points per game gradually increased from 15.8 to 21.6 , while his assists rose from 7.0 to 9.6 , followed by 8.8 and 6.3 in the next two seasons .
