Clippers' all-time top five assists: Paul leads with 4076.

Since its founding in 1970 , the Los Angeles Clippers have produced numerous outstanding playmakers. Here are the top five players in Clippers history for assists:

1. Chris Paul ( 4076 assists)
Paul helped the Clippers achieve a winning percentage of over 50% for six consecutive seasons from 2011 to 2017 , winning their first two Pacific Division championships in franchise history. Paul was a five-time All-Star during his Clippers career and ultimately ranks second in NBA history with 12,552 assists .

2. Randy Smith ( 3498 assists)
Smith dished out 3,489 assists during his time with the Clippers , averaging 4.6 assists per game in his career . A two-time All-Star, he also holds the record for playing 906 consecutive regular season games from 1972 to 1983 .

3. Gary Grant ( 2810 assists)
Grant played seven seasons with the Clippers from 1988 to 1995 , ranking third in franchise history for assists. In the 1989-90 season, he averaged 13.1 points, 10.0 assists, and 2.5 steals per game, all career highs.

4. Norm Nixon ( 2540 assists)
Nixon played for the Clippers from 1983 to 1989. He averaged 8.3 assists per game in his career . An Achilles tendon injury caused him to miss two consecutive seasons. He eventually returned in the 1988-89 season, playing 53 games before retiring.

5. Blake Griffin ( 2133 assists)
Blake Griffin, the number one draft pick in 2009 , played eight seasons with the Clippers, averaging 21.6 points, 9.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game, and was selected to the All-Star team five times and the All-NBA team four times.
