Chelsea centre-back Badiashile has joined Napoli on loan and will wear the number 5 jersey.

Napoli announced on Saturday that they have reached an agreement with Chelsea for the loan signing of centre-back Benoît Badiashile. Badiashile will play for Napoli until the end of the 2026/27 season, with an option to buy for €27 million.

Other reports indicate that the loan fee for Badiashile is €3 million.

Badiashile, 25, was born in Limoges, France, and began his professional career at his home country's powerhouse Monaco. Since making his first-team debut on November 11, 2018, he has made 135 appearances for Monaco, scoring 6 goals and providing 3 assists.

In January 2023, Badiashile transferred to Chelsea for £32.7 million. He signed a seven-and-a-half-year contract with Chelsea, which was originally scheduled to expire on June 30, 2030.

However, Badiashir's time at Chelsea has been less than smooth. Hampered by injuries, he has only made 71 appearances for the Blues so far, contributing 2 goals and 1 assist, and winning the Club World Cup and the European Championship once each.

According to the official statement, Badiashile will wear the number 5 jersey for Napoli.
