Manchester City manager Maresca responds to Rodri's departure: The club will look for a new successor.

Following the £65 million transfer of midfield maestro Rodri to Barcelona, Manchester City's new manager Enzo Maresca stated in an interview that the team will not stagnate because of the departure of key players, and the next focus is on finding a "new Rodri," just as they have done in the past when completing the handover of the forward line.

In response to concerns about losing a top-class defensive midfielder, Maresca said: "How do we solve this problem? It's about trying to find a new Rodri. When Rodri first came to Manchester City, he hadn't won the Ballon d'Or or the Champions League; he only achieved these accomplishments after joining the club."

"When Silva left, everyone was worried, and then De Bruyne came; when Aguero left, everyone was also worried, and then Haaland came. When core players leave, it's a normal generational transition process to make good signings to find the next successor."

When asked about Rodri's desire to leave, Maresca stated clearly that he would not stand in his way: "He is perfectly free to leave. If a player is unhappy here, he cannot perform at his full potential."

Previously, Manchester City lost 0-3 to Arsenal in the Community Shield. Speaking about the team atmosphere after the defeat and the adjustment to the new season, Maresca admitted that players need time to adapt to the new tactics: "The team and I have been focused on preparing for the Premier League opener since Tuesday."

"Changing the head coach is like changing the director for actors; it takes time to adapt, but we must quickly build up our fighting spirit." Maresca also revealed that the plan for the new season is to maintain a regular roster of 21 to 22 players and keep three promising young players from the preseason in the first team.
