Venezia officially announce the signing of Hellas Verona goalkeeper Lorenzo Montipò..

Venezia announced on their official website on Thursday that they have signed Hellas Verona's Italian goalkeeper Lorenzo Montipò.

According to the newly promoted Serie A club's official statement, Montipò has signed on a short-term two-year deal with the club which will only run until the summer of 2028.

After completing his transfer procedures, Montipò, who was interviewed by the Venezia's official website for the first time, said: "At Venezia, we have an important project, a grand vision, a large investment, and a strong desire to avoid relegation to ensure the continuation and development of our project."

"I have wonderful memories of the Stadio Penzo. The atmosphere there is fantastic, the fans are so close to the pitch, so passionate, it's incredibly heartwarming. I believe our fans will fully support us and help us earn points."

About Lorenzo Montipò

The 30-year-old Montipò was born on February 20, 1996, in Novara, Italy. He is 1.91 meters tall and plays as a goalkeeper.

Montipò joined the youth academy of his hometown club, Novara, at a young age and completed Novara first-team debut in May 2013 at the age of 17.

During his five-year spell at Novara, Montipò won the Serie C title and the Supercoppa di Serie C once each with the club, and also had loan spells at Siena and Carpi.

In July 2018, Montipò was loaned-out to Benevento, and his rights were officially bought out the following summer.

During his three-year spell at Benevento, Montipò won the Serie B title once with the club.

In the summer of 2021, Montipo was loaned-out to Hellas Verona. After helping the club avoid relegation, Montipo's rights were officially bought out the following July.

During his five-year spell with I Gialloblù, Montipò made 184 appearances for the Serie B club in all competitions, conceding 285 goals and keeping 30 clean sheets.
