The Pelicans have officially signed Malik Diaw to a two-way contract.

August 21st - According to an official announcement from the New Orleans Pelicans, the team has signed former University of Mississippi forward Malik Diaz to a two-way contract. With this signing, the Pelicans' roster framework for next season is essentially finalized .

Diaw represented the Pelicans in the Summer League this summer, playing 5 games and averaging 10.0 points and 5.8 rebounds, with a field goal percentage of 37.5% , a three-point percentage of 35.7% , and a free throw percentage of 71.4% . He also contributed about 1 steal and 1 block per game.

It's worth mentioning that Diaz showcased impressive outside shooting ability during the Summer League. Previously, his career three-point percentage had mostly hovered between 34% and 35% , but it dropped to 27.5% last season at the University of Mississippi , averaging only 2.3 attempts per game.

Following this signing, Diaw will join the Pelicans on a two-way contract, aiming to gain more opportunities in the NBA .
