Union Berlin officially announced the contract extension with Andre Ilic, and the player will continue to wear the team jersey.

Union Berlin officially announced that Serbian striker Andrejic has reached a contract extension agreement with the club, confirming his continued participation in the Union Berlin jersey. Since joining the team, Andrejic has gradually become an important force in the team's attacking system, thanks to his crucial goal at the end of the season and consistent performances in many important matches. Now, with the contract extension finalized, he will continue to play for Union Berlin.  

Andrejic joined Union Berlin on loan in the summer of 2024. Prior to this, he played in leagues in Serbia, Latvia, Norway, and France, accumulating extensive overseas experience. Upon arriving at Union Berlin, Andrejic quickly adapted to the team's system and became a key member of the attacking line, especially in the second half of the 2024/25 season, where he demonstrated excellent finishing ability.  

In his first 16 Bundesliga appearances for Union Berlin, Andre Ilic has already scored 7 goals, showcasing excellent finishing ability. Especially in the final stretch of the season, he has repeatedly stepped up in crucial moments. In the away game against Freiburg, Andre Ilic scored the winning goal, helping Union Berlin complete a 2-1 comeback and secure three vital points. In the 4-4 goal-fest against Stuttgart, he scored twice, helping his team earn a valuable point at home.  

With his exceptional heading ability, strong presence in the penalty area, and clutch finishing, Andre Ilic quickly became a key attacking threat for Union Berlin. After completing his permanent transfer in the summer of 2025, he continued his excellent form. To date, Andre Ilic has made 50 official appearances for Union Berlin, directly involved in 25 goals, contributing 13 goals and 12 assists.  

After signing his contract extension, Andrej Ilić said, "From the first day I arrived at Union Berlin, I felt very comfortable. Everything about the team, the fans, and the club has allowed me to quickly integrate and has given me their full trust. Therefore, I am very happy to stay here. I believe we still have the opportunity to achieve many things together, and I hope to continue to contribute to the future development and success of Union Berlin. This contract extension reflects the mutual recognition between the club and me, and I am very pleased about it."  

Horst Herrth, Managing Director of Union Berlin Professional Football Club, was also pleased with Andre Ilic's contract extension. He said, "Andre Ilic has quickly become an important member of the team. He possesses many of the qualities needed by a modern striker, including excellent physical presence, tackling ability, and goal threat, while also being willing to contribute to the team as a whole. He has earned the club's trust through his performances on the field, so we are very happy to continue working with him and rely on his abilities for the long term."
