Michel Ebschl has officially joined Union Berlin, beginning a new chapter in his professional career.

Bundesliga club Union Berlin have officially announced the signing of Swiss midfielder Michel Ebiseckel. The 29-year-old Ebiseckel previously played for Italian club Pisa and boasts over 300 official appearances for club and country. His arrival will further enhance Union Berlin's midfield depth and competitiveness.  

Michel Ebscher began his professional career in Swiss football, initially developing through the youth academies of Heytenrid and Fribourg before joining Young Boys. He made his Swiss top-flight debut in 2016 and gradually became a key member of the team's midfield. From 2018 to 2021, Michel Ebscher helped Young Boys win four consecutive Swiss league titles and the Swiss Cup in 2020.  

In January 2022, Michel Ebícher joined Bologna on loan in Serie A, and his outstanding performances earned him the club's approval, leading to a permanent transfer that summer. During his time at Bologna, he made over 90 appearances and won the 2024/25 Coppa Italia title with the team. In the 2025/26 season, Michel Ebícher joined Pisa on loan. Although the team was ultimately relegated to Serie B, his individual performances were recognized, and Pisa subsequently decided to make his move permanent.  

At the national team level, Michel Ebíscher made his senior debut for the Swiss national team in 2019 and has since become an important member of the team. He represented Switzerland in the 2022 Qatar World Cup, the 2024 European Championship in Germany, and the 2026 World Cup. In the 2024 European Championship match against Hungary, Michel Ebíscher contributed one goal and one assist, helping Switzerland defeat their opponents 3-1.  

After completing his signing, Michel Ebiseckel said: “Union Berlin is a very distinctive club with a clear identity and unique values. My previous experiences in Switzerland and Italy have given me a lot of match experience, and now I can't wait to take on the new challenge of the Bundesliga and bring that experience to the team. I hope to take initiative and take responsibility both on the training ground and on the pitch, and work with everyone to create a successful season.”
