AC Milan have confirmed the signing of Diego Moreira, with both parties agreeing to a contract until 2031.

AC Milan have officially announced the signing of Belgian winger Diego Moreira from Ligue 1 side Strasbourg. The player has signed a long-term contract until June 30, 2031. Moreira will wear the number 22 jersey for AC Milan in the new season.  

Diego Moreira was born on August 6, 2004, in Liège, Belgium. He spent his youth career at Standard Liège and Benfica, ultimately developing his skills within the Benfica system. During his time with Benfica's youth academy, Diego Moreira showcased his exceptional individual ability, helping the team win the 2021/22 UEFA Youth League title and, a few months later, the U20 Intercontinental Cup. He then made his professional Champions League debut in the 2022/23 season, playing in the qualifying rounds.  

In the summer of 2023, Diego Moreira joined Chelsea and made his first-team debut for the Blues on August 30th of the same year in a League Cup match against Wimbledon. During the 2023/24 season, he spent time on loan at Lyon, gaining more experience in top-flight leagues. Then, in the summer transfer window of 2024, Diego Moreira officially transferred to Strasbourg in Ligue 1.  

Since joining French football, Diego Moreira has gradually become one of the most watched young players. With his excellent speed, solid footwork, and strong positional adaptability, he has established himself in Strasbourg and shown promising potential.  

In his international career, Diego Moreira initially represented Portugal at various youth levels, including at the 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship. From 2025 onwards, he chose to represent Belgium at the senior level, making his debut during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Subsequently, Diego Moreira was selected for Belgium's squad for the 2026 World Cup, embarking on his World Cup journey.  

Joining AC Milan marks a significant new phase in Diego Moreira's career. The club welcomes the young winger and expects him to fully utilize his strengths at the San Siro, contributing his speed, technique, and attacking creativity to the team.
