Former Houston Rockets guard Aaron Holiday has officially joined Roma Maxima and will play for the team in the LBA and the European Championship.

Roma Maxima announced on Wednesday the signing of Aaron Holiday from the Houston Rockets. The contract is expected to run until the end of the 2026/27 season and includes an NBA opt-out clause.

This move to Roma Maxima marks the temporary end of Holiday's nine-year NBA career. Next season, he will play in the Italian Basketball League (LBA) and the EuroBasket.

The 29-year-old Jrue Holiday is the brother of NBA veterans Jrue Holiday and Justin Holiday, and primarily plays point guard. As the 23rd overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft, he has played for the Indiana Pacers, Washington Wizards, Phoenix Suns, Atlanta Hawks, and Houston Rockets during his career.

To date, Holiday has played 505 regular season games, averaging 6.4 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in 16.1 minutes per game, with a field goal percentage of 42.1% and a three-point percentage of 38.4%. He also played 23 playoff games, averaging 3.7 points, 0.5 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 8.8 minutes per game.

After completing the transfer, Holiday stated through official channels: "I am very honored to join Roma Maxima and embark on my first challenge in European basketball.
