Leeds United have officially announced a contract extension with Joe Rodon, extending his contract until 2030.

Leeds United have officially announced that they have extended the contract of defender Joe Rodon to a long-term deal that runs until the summer of 2030. The 28-year-old Rodon has become a key player in the team's defense since joining in 2023. He initially joined Leeds United on loan from Tottenham Hotspur before making the move permanent the following summer.  

In his first season with Leeds United, Joe Rodon quickly became a key member of the team's defense, making 50 appearances in all competitions and helping the team finish third in the league. After completing his permanent transfer, he continued to perform consistently. Last season, Joe Rodon started all 46 league matches, almost never missing a game, ultimately helping Leeds United return to the Premier League as Championship champions .  

Joe Rodon, with his Premier League experience, continued his consistent performance after Leeds United returned to the top flight. Last season, he made 38 appearances for the team in all competitions, quickly adapting to the intensity and pace of the Premier League. Rodon also contributed two goals, headers against Bournemouth and West Ham United at Elland Road. Ultimately, he helped Leeds United finish the season in 14th place.  

At the national team level, Joe Rodon has a long career with Wales, having made 62 appearances and scored 2 goals. Combining his club and national team appearances at higher levels, his career total is approaching 400. With the new season approaching, Joe Rodon is poised to reach this significant career milestone.  

After completing his contract extension, Joe Rodon gave an interview to Leeds United's official website. He couldn't hide his joy at being able to continue wearing the Leeds United shirt, saying he is currently in a very special and enjoyable period of his career.  

Joe Rodon said: “I’ve felt the warmth of Leeds United since I first arrived here, and I’m really happy to continue playing for the team. Everyone at the club has given me a lot of support, and I’ve always enjoyed playing and living here. Being able to extend my contract means a lot to me. I hope to spend many more years here and create more wonderful memories with the team, and look forward to a successful future.”
