Abdul Momin joins Girona on a contract that runs until 2029.

Girona have officially announced the signing of Ghanaian center-back Abdel Momin. The 28-year-old joined as a free agent and signed a three-year contract with the club, running until 2029.  

Abdul Momin was born on June 6, 1998. Standing at 1.88 meters tall, he primarily plays as a center-back. This Ghanaian defender possesses excellent physical attributes and strength, employs a tough defensive style, and excels in physical duels in the backfield. Momin came through the Right to Dream youth academy before embarking on his professional football career in Europe.  

Early in his career, Abdel Momin played for Nordsjælland in Denmark and Vitoria Guimarães in Portugal, gaining valuable experience in European competitions. In the summer of 2022, he transferred to La Liga side Rayo Vallecano, gradually adapting to the pace of the Spanish top flight. To date, Abdel Momin has made over 60 appearances for the team in official matches.  

At the national team level, Abdul Momin made his debut for Ghana in June 2024 and gradually became a member of the national team squad thanks to his consistent performance. During the 2026 World Cup, he was successfully selected for the Ghanaian national team roster, giving him the opportunity to represent his country in a major international tournament.  

Girona's signing of Abdel Momin aims to further strengthen their defense. With ongoing squad adjustments this summer, this experienced La Liga center-back can provide more options for the team's backline thanks to his excellent physical attributes, strong defensive capabilities, and extensive experience. In the new season, he will strive to integrate into the team quickly and play a vital role in Girona's defensive system.
