The Phoenix Suns spent millions to build a giant transparent screen around their arena.

In preparation for the upcoming NBA All-Star Game in February 2027, the Phoenix Suns officially announced that their home Mortgage Matchup Center is undergoing a multi-million dollar exterior upgrade.

The arena has been fitted with a giant transparent LED display screen measuring approximately 69 meters long and 12.5 meters high (226 feet x 41 feet). This will make the arena the only NBA/WNBA venue in the United States to feature such a large-scale transparent external screen. The project is expected to be completed in September of this year.

Phoenix Suns and WNBA Mercury CEO Josh Bartelstein stated that the screen is not only for All-Star Weekend but also aims to create a landmark gathering place in downtown Phoenix. In the future, fans will be able to watch highlights, game previews, and participate in outdoor joint viewing parties during key away games.

Bartelstein pointed out that team owner Matt Ishbia is always committed to improving the fan experience. The Suns currently hold a record of 209 consecutive home games selling out since 2021.

Following the successful hosting of the WNBA All-Star Game in 2024, this marks the first time Phoenix has hosted the NBA All-Star Game since 2009, and the fourth time in its history. Management stated they will meticulously attend to every detail, from the arena's infrastructure to event hospitality, to ensure a record-breaking All-Star event.
