Brighton & Wanderers have announced the loan signing of Canadian international striker Promis David.

Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club has officially announced the signing of 25-year-old Canadian international striker Promise David on loan for one season from Belgian First Division A side United San Giros.

The transaction will become effective upon completion of relevant regulatory procedures, and the agreement includes a mandatory buyout clause under certain triggering conditions.

Brighton's sporting director, Mike Cave, expressed his approval of the signing. He pointed out that the club had been scouting David for some time, noting his excellent physical attributes, strong finishing ability in front of goal, and experience in international and European competitions.

David is currently 25 years old and in his prime, and his arrival will significantly enhance the team's attacking depth and tactical options. Nicknamed "Toby," David has an extensive professional resume. He trained in the youth systems of Canada, Croatia, and the United States in his early years, and later made his mark in the Maltese and Estonian leagues.

During his time with Nõmme Kalju FC, David made 44 appearances and scored 30 goals. After transferring to United San Giros in 2024, he scored 24 goals in his first season, helping the team win their first league title in nearly 90 years. During his time in the Belgian First Division A, he made a total of 82 appearances, delivering an impressive record of 41 goals and 9 assists.

At the national team level, David has made 14 appearances for Canada, scoring 4 goals, and also scored in this summer's World Cup. Next season, he will wear the Brighton jersey in the Premier League.
