Borussia Mönchengladbach winger Ngoum has officially joined Nice and will wear the number 29 jersey.

Nice officially announced on Monday that Nathan Ngoum has transferred from Borussia Mönchengladbach to join the club. According to French newspaper L'Équipe, the two sides have signed a two-year contract.

The official announcement also confirmed that Ngoum will wear the number 29 jersey for Nice.

Due to Ngoum's recurring injuries in recent years, Nice will not have to pay any fees for this transfer. As compensation, Borussia Mönchengladbach has retained 10% of the player's future transfer fee in the agreement.

Regarding Ngoum's arrival, Nice president Maurice Cohen commented: "Nathan needs to revive his career, and we need a striker like him. His excellent skills and strong desire to join have paved the way for this transfer. We will do our best to help him adapt to his new environment, and I believe everything here will make him feel at home. I welcome him and thank Borussia Mönchengladbach for the excellent cooperation between us."

Nice sporting director Roger Ricott added: “Before Nathan joined, we gathered a lot of information about him. His medical results were excellent. Physically, Nathan has maintained good form throughout the summer. His fitness coach, Nico Dien, who previously worked with him in Germany, also spoke highly of him. He is currently in excellent form and full of fighting spirit. He has the ability to change the game, both scoring goals himself and assisting his teammates. He is a team player, with a style very different from our current players. He has a wealth of experience.”

The 26-year-old Ngoum is a product of Toulouse's youth academy and made his first-team debut in Ligue 1 on May 24, 2019. As a versatile winger, he made 59 appearances for Toulouse, contributing 11 goals and 4 assists.

In August 2022, Ngomu transferred to Borussia Mönchengladbach for €8 million. Affected by multiple injuries, including a ruptured Achilles tendon, he has only made 78 appearances for Mönchengladbach so far, scoring 9 goals and providing 5 assists.
