Luis Enrique, who failed to win the French Super Cup, called for an analysis and evaluation of his own performance.

Paris Saint-Germain lost 0-1 to Lens in the 2026 French Super Cup final, after conceding a goal in the first half and Nuno Mendes receiving a red card in the second half. Enrique expressed his disappointment with the result and called for a serious analysis and evaluation of their performance.

In the 32nd minute, Mathieu Udol crossed the ball into the box, and Florian Thauvin slotted it home, giving Lens a 1-0 lead. In the 39th minute, Lens defender Kylian Antonio tackled Akliusz and was shown a red card.

In the 87th minute of the second half, Nuno Mendes elbowed an opposing player, and the referee showed him a red card and sent him off.

Ultimately, Paris Saint-Germain lost 0-1 to Lens, failing to win the championship.

Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique said, "This result is very frustrating, but we need to analyze it, assess it, and face our performance in the game, because I think we played a very good game. I am very satisfied with the team's performance in the first half, but the score is 0. Football is so incredible, and sometimes very unfair."

"Of course, we must also congratulate our opponents Lens, because they scored one more goal than us, and ultimately, that is the most important thing in the game."

Enrique pointed out, "In the second half, we tried to create more chances. However, we still missed some very obvious opportunities. Both Dembele and Nuno Mendes created chances to equalize, but that's football, and the team has to accept the result."

In addition, Paris Saint-Germain will host Rennes at the Parc des Princes in the first round of the 2026/27 Ligue 1 season.

Enrique continued, "This has been a very special week, with two finals played in four days. We still have time to prepare, further improve our physical condition and technical level, and get ready in the best way to welcome the start of the league in the coming week."
