Rodri bid farewell to Manchester City after 7 years and moved to Barcelona to fulfill his dream.

Spanish midfielder Rodri arrived in Catalonia on Monday to undergo a medical examination at FC Barcelona.

The highly anticipated blockbuster transfer has been completed after Manchester City accepted a third offer from Barcelona totaling £65.4 million. Rodri's contract with Manchester City was originally set to expire next summer, and the club ultimately decided to let him go after the player made it clear that he wanted to leave.

Upon arriving at the airport, Rodri could not hide his excitement: "I am very happy to be here. These past few days have been very fulfilling, and I am glad that everything has been resolved successfully. Playing for Barcelona has always been my dream, and I am very much looking forward to fighting alongside my new teammates. Now it is time to give it my all in training and matches."

Looking back on Rodri's Manchester City career, he spent seven brilliant seasons at the Etihad Stadium, serving as the team's absolute midfield core and anchor.

During his time with Manchester City, Rodri helped them win four Premier League titles. In the 2023 Champions League final, Rodri scored the only winning goal, helping City defeat Inter Milan to lift their first-ever Champions League trophy and complete the treble. His exceptional midfield dominance earned him the Ballon d'Or the following year.

Despite suffering a severe cruciate ligament injury and multiple other injuries such as hamstring and groin injuries in the following season, which limited his playing time, Rodri's offensive and defensive organization and leadership on the court remained irreplaceable.

Manchester City manager Maresca also highly praised Rodri as a world-class player in a post-match interview, stating that every team needs Rodri. Now, carrying the numerous achievements and championship glory he won with Manchester City, Rodri has officially bid farewell to the Premier League and begun a new chapter representing Barcelona in La Liga.
