João Pedro hopes to help Xabi Alonso and Chelsea achieve their goals.

Chelsea striker João Pedro, in an interview with the club, said he is very much looking forward to the 2026/27 season and hopes to help manager Xabi Alonso and Chelsea achieve their goals.

In an earlier friendly match, Chelsea defeated Real Sociedad 3-1, thanks to goals from Morgan Rodgers and João Pedro, and successfully welcomed the new Premier League season with a victory.

Chelsea striker João Pedro, 24, said, "When I go back to Brazil and spend time with my friends, I will try not to think too much about football. I won't play with them or do anything like that. I just want to relax with them and enjoy my time with them."

In the 2025/26 Premier League season, João Pedro scored 15 goals and provided 5 assists for Chelsea, while also scoring 3 goals in the Champions League.

João Pedro shared, "My first season here was very special, but from a team perspective, it wasn't the result we wanted. I will continue to do my best and hope to have another great season, while the team also achieves our goals."

“My position has always been number 9, but because of my good skills, I can drop back to receive the ball or drift to the wing. However, I just want to play and help the team on the field. Sometimes I drop back quite deep, and sometimes I appear in the penalty area. But one thing I can’t lose is my instinctive judgment of where I should be on the field.”

Furthermore, João Pedro stated, "If I stay inside the penalty area, I might not get many opportunities. But if I stay outside the penalty area, I might be too far from the goal. So, I need to use this feeling and then score goals."

“I played in different positions when I was younger, and I think that helped me a lot. But we have a lot of top players in midfield, so my focus is on scoring goals.”
